Detailed itinerary.

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Serengeti National Park.

On the first day of the safari, upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be met by your safari guide from African Vacation Safaris and he will welcome you to the safari and brief you. After the briefing you will be transferred by road to Arusha Airport (ARK) or directly to the flight terminal. You will then take a scheduled domestic flight to the central Serengeti (Seronera Airstrip). Flying saves time and then provides stunning aerial views of the landscape.

After landing, you will immediately start on your first game drive en route to your tented camp. Serengeti is famous for its vast plains and guaranteed Big five sightings. Later you will be served with dinner and then an overnight stay.

Day 2: Full day in Serengeti National Park.

On the second day of the safari, the day is dedicated entirely to exploring the vast savanna of the central Serengeti National Park. Activities to enjoy include the morning and afternoon game drives, and these increase your chances of seeing large herds of grazers, intense predator action (lions, cheetahs, leopards and others), and the spectacular wildebeest and zebra movements (depending on the season).

You will enjoy your picnic lunch enjoyed in the park to increase time spent viewing wildlife, as your safari guide takes you to the best tracks that ensure a dynamic and rewarding day. Later you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Fly to Arusha.

On the third day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy your breakfast. After breakfast you check out from your lodge and meet your safari guide and then enjoy your safari guide and transfer to Seronera airstrip for your flight back to Arusha with an en-route game drive. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to a hotel near the airport for an overnight stay or a quick day room to prepare for the island transfer the following morning

Day 4: Flight to Zanzibar and Beach check-in.

On the 4th day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast you will check out from your lodge and meet your safari guide and be transferred to Arusha Airport for your flight to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ).

Upon arrival, a pre-arranged transfer will take you directly to your chosen beach resort, typically located on the beautiful northern (Nungwi/Kendwa) or eastern (Matemwe/Paje) coasts. Once you arrive, you will check in at your resort and spend the remainder of the day relaxing by the pool or enjoying the warm ocean waters.

Day 5: Stone town and spice tour.

Stone Town

On the fifth day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast you will meet your guide, and this day is dedicated to the cultural and the historical heart of the island. You will take a guided tour to Stone Town; this is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is famous for its winding alleys, ornate carved doors, historical markets and the haunting history of the slave trade.

In the afternoon, you will participate in a spice tour, where you visit a local plantation to learn about and sample the cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla that gave Zanzibar its historical nickname, the “Spice Island.” Later you will be transferred to your resort for dinner, relaxation and an overnight stay.

Day 6: ocean and Beach Relaxation.

On the sixth day of the safari, this is a flexible day entirely dedicated to relaxation or optional water activities. You can swim, sunbathe or take part in different optional activities like snorkeling trips to nearby reefs (like Mnemba Atoll), deep-sea fishing, or a sunset dhow cruise. You have the flexibility to choose your own pace and activities. Then dinner is typically enjoyed at the resort; it is often fresh seafood.

Day 7: Departure.

On the last day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast, you will check out of your resort and then be transferred from your beach resort back to Zanzibar International Airport (ZNZ) for your scheduled international departure or your connecting flight, which will bring your safari to an end.
