On the first day of the safari, upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be met by your safari guide from African Vacation Safaris and transferred by road directly to Tarangire National Park (approximately a two- to three-hour drive). After entering the park, you will immediately begin an afternoon game drive en route to your camp.

Tarangire is defined by its massive herds of elephants and the majestic presence of the baobab trees, which dominate the hilly landscape. The Tarangire River provides an important lifeline, attracting large concentrations of animals, especially during the dry season. Later, transfer to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Full-day exploration of Tarangire National Park.

On the second day of the wildlife Tanzania safari, you will wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast you will meet your safari guide for the full-day exploration of extensive game drives within Tarangire National Park.

The park is excellent for spotting large buffalo herds, lions, giraffes, and various antelopes. Your guide will focus on the riverine areas and swamps, which are key habitats for resident wildlife. Tarangire also hosts a large number of the rare dry-country animals, such as the fringe-eared oryx and the large long-necked Gerenuk. This day ensures a thorough exploration of the park before moving to the Serengeti the following morning.

Day 3: Transfer to Serengeti National Park through a scenic route.

After an early breakfast you will check out from your lodge and then enjoy a final game drive en route as you exit Tarangire and begin the long, scenic drive toward Serengeti National Park. The journey takes you through Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA), providing breathtaking views of the highlands.

Upon entering Serengeti, you will begin an afternoon game drive into the central Seronera region, often referred to as the ‘’Big Cat Capital.’’ This area is famous for its high concentration of lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Later, transfer to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and an overnight stay at the tented camp in the central Serengeti.

Day 4: Full day of game drives and predator tracking in Serengeti National Park.

Depending on the month of travel, you may encounter large columns of the Great Migration herds. The experience emphasizes tracking and patience, aiming for the many sightings of the large predators and then the diverse birdlife. Later you will be transferred to your accommodation for dinner, relaxation and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Descent.

On the fifth day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast you will leave Serengeti and drive back into Ngorongoro conservation Area, heading toward the crater rim.

This is a transition day, with the major highlight being the descent into Ngorongoro crater after lunch. The crater floor, a self-contained natural bowl, hosts one of the highest densities of wildlife in Africa, including the rare Black Rhinoceros. You will spend a thrilling afternoon exploring the crater’s unique landscape before ascending the rim and then checking into your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay overlooking the caldera.

Day 6: Final views and Departure.

On the last day of the safari, enjoy your relaxed breakfast, often with the spectacular views over the crater.
