Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park.
On the first day of the safari your safari guide from African Vacation Safaris will pick you from your hotel in Arusha or from the Airport and welcome you then brief you about the safari. After a short briefing, you will start your journey to Tarangire National Park which is about two hours away. Along the way you will have the perfect views, as you reach the park and enter you will immediately notice the giant baobab trees rising above the landscape, giving Tarangire a very unique atmosphere.
Tarangire is famous for having one of the largest elephant populations during the game drive, as you will see various elephant families walking across the plains or cooling themselves by the river. Tarangire River is the main water source in the park, so animals like lion, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes and giraffes gather here throughout the day. You will enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot before proceeding your afternoon game drive. Later in the evening you will head to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and relaxation then overnight stay.
Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park.
On the second day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast, you will checkout from your lodge and then start your journey to the world-famous Serengeti, one of the Africa’s largest and then most beautiful areas. Towards driving from the lodge, you will have the enroute game drive and spot the various animal’s species, and then proceed with your journey. The drive takes you through Ngorongoro Highlands, that offers you wonderful views of the mountains and local villages.
As you enter Serengeti, you will see why its name means “endless plains.” You will spot various animal species like wildebeests, gazelles, zebras and among others, the lions rest on the rocky kopjes and cheetahs scanning its prey. Later you will enjoy your lunch, and then procced with your afternoon game drive, to capture more animal sightings. Then later you will proceed to your lodge and check in for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Full day in Serengeti National Park.
On the third day of the Tanzania safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast meet your safari guide and then get ready for the full exploration day in Serengeti, you will head for a morning game drive which is the perfect time to see predators like lions, cheetahs, leopards and others.
You may also spot elephants, hyenas, hippos near rivers and large groups of buffaloes. If you visit during the Great Migration season, you will witness thousands of animals moving together across the plains looking for the fresh grass.
You will enjoy a picnic lunch under the acacia tree or by river, and continue your afternoon game drive until evening. Your guide will increase your time by choosing the areas with the highest wildlife concentration. Later you will return to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 4: Serengeti to Arusha.
On the last day of the safari, wake up early in the morning, check out from your lodge and then meet your safari guide and go for the final game drive as you will spot the animals that you missed earlier or enjoy one last encounter with giraffes or zebras walking across the plains. After exiting the park, you will head back toward Arusha with a stop for lunch on the way. Upon arrival your guide will drop you at your hotel or the airport marking the end of your memorable 4-day safari.
