Day 1: Arrival and Ascent to Ngorongoro Highlands.
On the first day of the safari, once you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) you will be met by your private safari guide from African Vacation Safaris, he will welcome you and brief you about the safari and you will be transferred in a luxury 4X4 Land Cruiser.
The scenic drive takes you up the Great rift Valley escarpment to Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA). You will check into your exclusive lodge that is situated directly on the crater rim, offering breathtaking views. The afternoon is reserved for relaxation, enjoying the settling into your luxurious suite, followed by a gourmet dinner.
Day 2: The ultimate wildlife show: Ngorongoro Crater.
This day is the centrepiece of the safari, dedicated to experiencing the exceptional wildlife density of the Ngorongoro Crater.
On the second day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast, you will meet your safari guide and get ready for crater descent and exploration, that is descending 600 meters (2000 feet) into the massive Ngorongoro Crater.
This self-contacted caldera acts as a natural sanctuary, hosting one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. Your private game drive will focus on guaranteed sightings of the Big five, with a high probability of spotting the endangered Black Rhinoceros.
You will spend a full day exploring the diverse habitats of the crater floor. Lunch will be private, gourmet picnic served in a secluded spot, increasing your time with the animals. In the later afternoon, you will ascend the crater and then return to your rim lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Lake Manyara and Departure.
The final morning offers a glimpse of the unique Lake Manyara before returning to the airport.
On the last day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast you will check out from your lodge and drive down the escarpment to Lake Manyara National Park. The morning game drive here focuses on the groundwater forest, which is excellent for viewing primates, massive elephant herds, and the park’s famous tree-climbing lions.
After the experience, you will be driven back to Arusha and transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your scheduled international departure, concluding your efficient, luxurious safari experience.
